'Evening All,

I'm up in Crewe, Cheshire in a couple of wkends for a family bash but as it's 2 hours closer then my house to the famed 'Evo Triangle' I thought I'd go for a hoon.

Can anyone suggest a decent route there and back that's not too far out the way?

Google suggests this:

Thanks,

That's the route I take when off for a hoon. You'll probably enjoy going via the Horseshoe pass though, turn left towards Llangollen instead of heading straight for Corwen.

If you do go via the horseshoe (and its over rated, much like the triangle itself) stay on the A542 until your bear left onto the A525 Nant Y Garth Pass, a finer section of road I have yet to find in wales, if you get a clear run at it.

Yeah, I'd go Wrexham - Llangollen via the A5, then north through the Horseshoe (A542, stop at Ponderosa) and A525 Nant y Garth pass to Ruthin, then the B5105 to Cerrigydrudion and pick up the triangle from there.

Went this morning!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Did this route in the end as I needed to be back for tea and medals by 9. The roads were still wet but I didn't hit much rain.

Google says 3.45 but I was back in 2.50 without doing crazy speeds.

I thought the horseshoe pass was a laugh and the best bit of the A5 was well before that side of the triangle. It was pretty misty up the A543 (hello to the guy in the grey Evora) but was fine on the B4501.
The B5105 and A525 (when it got to the tree lined part) were great and had some roller coster crests (some mid-corner!) and dips.

Next time I'll give the A4212 and B4391 a bash!
