Why did I buy a ***censored*** Cerbera

A few minor niggles. Once sorted you'll be grinning from ear to ear. It's part and parcel of Tvr ownership and something everyone has to consider before buying one is that your going to have a few problems to iron out

That was roughly my experience too, but I wasn't actually upset until I found the head gasket failure a few days later.

just bring the cerb to a TVR garage and let them fix it.

i dont see any prob at all, they can even pick her up

I'd bet that a new big fuse and a couple of new earth straps - one directly from the starter housing, one to to engine block (plus one from block to frame, while your at it) - would solve all those problems in a jiffy.

Sell it as quick as you can,

They are small issues that a TVR garage would sort easily. YOU have bought a super car that is nearly 13yrs old for Mondeo money, you can,t run it on a Mondeo budget.

There will be a few jiggles with a 12/13 yr old car even mores with a hand built super car, If you are struggling after a few days then it looks like an ageing super car is not for you and a return to a newer eurobox would be the best option.

I would put it into a garage preferably one of the specialists mentioned on here and get it fixed / looked over for a few hundred quid and have a great time blatting about in something that is unique,awesomely fast and an aural delight.
But you will have a few issues along the way, are you prepared for them if not cut you loses now or buy a newer TVR

Look, you've bought a cheaper 4.5,that will need a few quid spent on it to sort niggles. If you don't recognise what you've got,then get shot soon , and give someone the chance to save this one.
I've owned and driven some very quick cars over the last 20 odd years ,but nothing gives me what the Cerb does, either in performance or in terms of how it makes you feel. Get a grip,this isn't a hot hatch or Jap chav mobile,thank god!

Start with the basics/specialsist (hopefully near by) can give it the once over and let you know what you are in for.

100% right

if you are not prepared sell it as quick as you can.
For every small thing what ever it is, i go to the TVR specialist.
I dont fix anything myself.
When i bought my Cerb first thing i did was bring her to the specialists and let them check all and fix in case it is needed or in case it might have to be fixed soon.

bill are very low compared to many other cars with same performance.

Check the big fuse, its at the back of the engine ontop of the clutch bell housing.
As already mentioned get it looked at by a specialist, and then the smile will apear on your face!

Cheap Cerb with 'reduced' maintenance over the last couple of years is more likely to need a few months of niggle finding/fixing. Stick with it and you will soon have a reliable cerb - just be prepared to flash the cash.

out of interest, which car did you buy and was in private or trade. Did you have a pre purchase inspection done?
