The first issue of CAR I ever bought at 11 years old had two Giant Tests with Countach/Boxer/911 Turbo and Range Rover/Land Cruiser/Blazer/Jeep CJ and S3 station wagon This hooked me on comparison tests and I've based many a car buying decision on them since.
Favourites include; 'Setright decides' XJ12 vs.750iL vs.TurboR vs.560SEL or the Performance Car luxury barge comparison where Clarkson got his dad and a load of Doncaster businessmen to compare Scorpio/Senator/XM V624V/Lexus/Range Rover/Alfa 164.Amazingly they all loved the 164 but none of them would consider buying one!
