mk1 escort identities/ logbook help!!!!!
Discussion
hello everyone.
i am delighted to have joined the pistonheads community and get onto these forums to speak to like minded people in the know.
when i was 15, (7 years ago) i came across a mk1 escort two door shell in my scrappies. so as a 15 year old boy does and being absolutely fuelled to the brim with enthusiasm i duly bought the shell and had my father take it home. as i was starting my apprenticeship in fitting and welding fabrication at the age of 16 the escort sat and waited until i started gathering skills, so as i finished my time so did the escorts welding requirements. then i duly took my end of apprenticeship bonus and had the escort painted. so from then on it was a case of constant ebaying and assembly of the car to the point now of where its finished. but theres is a problem now that i hadnt thought about the whole way through the build due initially to lack of knowledge and being too occupied with just trying to get it complete.
when i replaced the many layers of strut tops that had been fitted over the years i could find no stamped chassis number and there was no aluminium plates on the slam panel so i am officially lost on what to do as far as getting logbook is concerned.
i have seen on forum posts on other forums that logbooks have been sold and bought before. can anyone help??????????????
