Instrument Pod - How to refit the back cover?
Discussion
Hi Guys
Don't know if you can help but the car had the LCD screen replaced just before getting it and the back cover of the instrument pod was never refitted properly. Is it supposed to pop into place or is there something holding it there? I can't seem to be able to keep it in place!
Cheers.
ETA: It's a Mk 1.

If you are talking about the leather dash binnacle, you will need to glue it back on. I have redone it several times as I have had to remove the binnacle for various reasons.
The best way is to position the binnacle making sure the change up light connector is attached to the speedo and then put some araldite along the edge that slots into the metal top of the speedo. I then push the whole speedo assembly as far back as it will go to hold it in place and lock it there with the steering column adjuster. Leave for the glue to go off and all should be well.
