I have searched but did not come up with anything. So hopefully not a report.

I just reserved places with Travel destinations. Not used them before but a mate and Fellow PH member has used them in the past and recommended them. We wanted to stay in Hunaudieres as we have twice in the past for 24 hour race in the past.

So anyone going to the classic?

I'm really looking forward to a change and see how it compared to the 24 hour's we normally go to

I'll be there, parking in the multimarque parking, doing track laps and generally enjoying the event as every other year.

We'll be doing the pair again next year, but it is a little easier now than last year as we're living in Paris and not Suffolk hehe

After going to my first LM this year I am planning on going to the classic next year with a few friends again.

Any reccomendations on which company to stay with? Went with SpeedChills this year and don't know if they do the classic.

Been twice, going again next year.

In many ways, I prefer it to the main event biggrin

Son and I have been to all Le Classics and don't plan to miss 2012. May also take my by then almost 10 year old grandson. We think that with paddock access, less crowds etc, it will be a good event to wean him ahead of the full LM experience.

Absolutely. Loved 2010. Working my contacts for some hospitality. Big issue this year is that I want to do both!

Sorry, just had to have a look:

Lovely. Has set me on a mission to find an age appropriate car for the classic. 1985 is the oldest in my fleet which does not cut it.

Me Sir. Drove down with a bunch of chums for 2010 CLM. Do it. It is utterly superb and very moron/chav/ free.

I will never forget a seven litre GT 40 cranking up. fk a duck. And as for the 908 and 917s.

I'm hoping to be there, did the 2008 event and loved it.

Fingers crossed I'll be able to make it to the 'regular' Le Mans as well, went this year for the first time in 10 years eek, the trouble is that this year will be the first in many that I've missed the British GP and I seriously don't want to miss it again next year...

Oh well, looks like I'll be doing all 3 then.... biggrin

I will be there with a couple of mates. We all sat down and planned it in the pub this Monday, so far there should be two old Jaguar XJ6's an XK140 and possibly a D-type replica in our group.

Anybody got the dates yet for it so I can stick it on the leave calendar at work?

Regards

Rich

Ditto.

I'm trying to arrange accomodation for a group of Cobra guys and dates would be a great help.

Cheers,

Definitely planning to get to the Classic.

The 2010 race was a great event. Less crowded, distinct lack of eejits and you could easily drive to all the favourite viewing points.

....And of course 2012 will be the 50th anniversary of the (ill-fated) TVR attempt in 1962....total budget of £5 3 shillings and 6 pence!! I believe one of the most original surviving Granturas will be on track for 2012. This car was in the "legends" support race for the 24H this year.

For 2012, we stayed with Speed Chills and were well impressed with the set-up. Can thoroughly recommend them.

I presume you mean for 2010? I have a great couple of evenings sitting in the ditch outside with pitchers of Speed Chills beer raising a glass to some fabulous cars. No shouting, no abuse, lots of mutual respect. How Le Mans should be.

Possible my best trip to Le Mans ever. You get so close to the metal - with no drunken stag type antics.

Top tip - leave the stickers at home. Much more reserved affair.

Planning on hiring a Chateau in the Loire and popping in to Speed Chills for one or two of the nights.

EDIT: Speed Chills are showing a provisional date:

I am hoping to do both the 24 hour and the classic in 2012. I have been to the 24 hour race 3 times now and have gone with speedchills everytime, I was thinking about just buying a normal pitch for the classic instead of using a hospitality company for the classic due to everybody commenting that there are a lot less chumps about. Does anybody else just buy a pitch and sort it from there?
