Magaluf/Santa Ponsa
Discussion
I'm going away for 7 nights with a mate in about a weeks time and have booked an apartment in Santa Ponsa, Mallorca which is about three miles away from Magaluf.
Can anybody recommend any interesting sites, restaurants, activities and bars in the local area?
Throwing questions into Google just seems to show results for the bars in Magaluf, which I'm interested in going to, but I'd rather do other things during the week too.
While I love going out drinking, I don't want to spend the week absolutely bladdered/hungover and want to do some relaxing things as well.
Any suggestions?
Hopefully its not just going to be a week fighting off chavs.

The club is BCM (not BSM lol, thats a driving school)as above is a good night out. Other things worth doing in Shagaluf are the waterparks if you're into that sort of thing and the carting. The marina at Puerto Portals (which is just past Palma Nova) is worth a wander around, grab a beer, gaze at the mega yachts and watch the rich totty wandering around.
Also the capital Palma is well worth visiting. Get a hire car and just drive around, the island is great.

25 euros entry and free drinks. The drinks tasted like battery acid. Dave pearce was on that night and playing the same old sh!te he was playing 15 years ago. Also went into the foam party and quickly ruined a lot of new clothing.
If there is a decent DJ/night you like the look of then maybe plan to go 1 night and maybe hit the bars next to BCM before (slightly more chilled out compared to the strip of bars around the corner).
Anything more than 1 night on that strip of bars in Magaluf is too much.
I never made it to Palma nova (hangovers and whatnot) but I would say try that place - slightly quieter that Magaluf but very pretty apparently.
Have yourself 1 night in Magaluf to get it out of your system and if like me you'll be happy to take it easy after that in the quieter parts.

Palma Nova is indeed much much more pleasant than its slightly grotty neighbour Magaluf, Only 2 really lively places, Cheeks Bar and Banana Joes which is where we spent most nights, its a good laugh but not in an over the top sort of way. Was out there on the world cup final night last year when Spain won and the place went mental. The Pirates show is pretty good if that's your kind of thing, but get there early as the queue are horrendous.
Not wanting to hijack, but I'm going there for my stag in September - are the go karts worth the money? They seemed pretty expensive when I last looked.
Any way to get it cheaper than list price?

I can't figure out what the difference between Pirates and Pirates Uncut is. It looks okay but for £50 per ticket its very expensive. Not wanting to hijack, but I'm going there for my stag in September - are the go karts worth the money? They seemed pretty expensive when I last looked.

Its just the adult later show, think they do 2 an evening with an early family one and a slightly bluer one later on. It was cack when I saw it 20 od years ago so doubt much has changed. If £50 is what they're asking now they're having a laugh.Gassing Station | Holidays & Travel | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
