Throttle Cable

Hi Guys

Had a slight mishap a couple of weeks ago
My throttle cable snapped when i was about to give it some beans on a good straight road
Luckily there was a hard shoulder and i managed to pull in and wipe my

Anyway, a quick question

The AA fitted a new cable and it works just fine.
Would you recommend going to garage and getting a TVR spec cable fitted, as this should be a better quality cable than a standard all round cable.

May be a silly question, but current climate and spending out on a cable that may well be as durable/quality as cable already fitted

I would just check that it is fitted correctly in that you are getting full wide open throttle when your foot is to the floor, and also check that is is securely fastened at the pedal.

i am assuming it will just be a new inner that he has fitted which should be fine. To change for a complete new cable inner and outer requires removal of the throttle pedal which is a tight squeeze. The metal fixing which attaches through the top of the pedal is araldited in place, or it was on mine. The hole it locates in will need making slightly bigger as the new metal fixing on the new cables is a little larger than the original ones used by TVR. This is what i found anyway and my car is a 1992 and i used a new cable from Clever Trevor.
