Returning a 3DS
Discussion
Hey
I bought a 3DS earlier today but after playing with it i have a bad headache, I tried it at the correct distance from my eyes and played it for less than 30 minutes but still gave me a bad headache, I bought it from GAME so I was wondering if they would be give me my money back if I return it, sadly I have opened the box but everything in the box and the 3DS is in perfect condition.
Any help would be nice.
Thanks

Thus highlighting the shambolic disparity between distance selling regs and high street retailing.
Hardly. The DSR are there to make sure people don't get ripped off in a situation where they have no opportunity to verify the items they're purchasing. Forcing retailers to offer people the same protection in a situation where they have the opportunity to discuss the purchase with shop assistants, or try it out, would be wholly disproportionate and unfair on retailers. That said, good luck C2 - though I must ask why you didn't try one before purchasing?

I agree with the principles of DSRs, but the execution is pathetic, and it's an utter pain in the arse because of it. It's a safety net for anyone who wants to return just about anything for just about any reason, regardless of the law's original intention. On the other hand the lack of protection afforded to high street shoppers is equally as laughable, I'm not for a second suggesting they should be afforded the same DSR levels of protection, but when company returns policies are so wildly inconsistent, it's a joke they haven't been unified, and the single most stupid thing in high street retailing since some bible thumpers enacted sunday trading hours.
And yes, I distance sell, as well as working with a significant number of high street retailers on a B2B basis.
