Third Party Insurance Query
Discussion
First off guys if this is in the wrong place and a bit long winded, I apologise.
In February last year I was in a single car accident. I was driving down an unlit B road and skidded on a right hand bend on mud/debris that had been left from nearby tractors, lorries etc. Anyways, car was a right-off and I was only TPF+T. And yes I have been slated to death for being cheap and not going fully comp but you learn from your mistakes and all that...
Informed my insurance company straight away and that was that, never heard anything again until I got a renewal letter in some months later. Its more out of curiosity than necessity that I was wondering where I stand now. I had owned the car for over 18months and insurance was paid for the year. In the future if i take out my own policy (which will definitely be fully comp!) do I have any grounds for NCB and do I tell insurance companies about it.
A few people have told me different stories and I am convinced that i'm pretty much going to get shafted for insurance, but though i'd see what PH makes of it!

Why would you lose your "No Claim Bonus" if you didn't claim?
Same thing happened to me.. TPF+T, skidded (on some diesel in the road, obviously) and hit a small wall. Told insurance company, they just said that's fine; nothing will come of it. (Unless the council claim for damage to the wall etc, which they never did)

Cheers for the reply. I heard a few different things and was hoping for some feedback from people who'd been in the same situation, so yeah, feel a bit better now Same thing happened to me..
