Can anyone tell me what make of car the driver door strike plate is from for a 1976 3000m tvr? please

Copied from your previous post...Well.. IF it is push button...the strike plate has a set and safety setting (unlike systems of today) and you need to understand that the door plate needs to go past safety and then latch and that he will need to bring the plate OUT to find safety and then latch..it common to assume that these are faulty...also IF you use too long a bolt to hold the mech into the door it will stop the mech from latching.

Not really sure any of that is relevant Adrian unless I am missing something, surely his neighbour already has a striker, possibly worn or maybe he,s lost it. All that is required is a direct replacement. I accept there are 2 variations so getting the correct one is important so maybe a photo might help of door handle or old striker. I am sure I must have something hanging around. Which "village" are you in Village?
