5th gear Next Week

Next week's 5th gear has the 111R Vs VXT
It's on tuesday, 7:30 or 8:00 I think

And it's got the carrera GT which kinda looks like a Lotus from side on......if you squint.....After a few beers.....

Its on Monday & repeated on either a Tuesday or Wednesday depending on scheduling...

May have to watch it both times!

5th Gear is on Channel 5. (the clue's in the title)

Anyone see the show? The segment itself was pretty short, and just showed the elise and VXT facing off at what looked like the Anglesey circuit.

For those who didn't see it, the VXT was ahead early in the lap, but the 111r pulled it back for a narrow victory. The laptime was 50-odd seconds IIRC with Needles driving.

just watched the mighty beast in asction! wasnt to impressed with the small section given to the best cars on the road, but what the hell. the big question was answered? which is better and the Lotus wins.

Dosn't matter if u win by an inch or a mile! winning is winning! Glad im in the Lotus corner and not the Vauxhall.

Agreed, they could have made more out of it instead of all that cr@p about the motorshow - everyone who knows their cars knows its a rip-off so no great surprise there.

Frankly though (gets ready for a flaming) for the money, the VX wasn't far off the pace. If you really hate the Vhall badge that much I'd seriously consider getting an import from Europe badged as an Opel.... oh all right then, I'd shell out and get an S2 111S or an S1 Exige

I'm happy to see plenty of sales for the VX. The money will help keep Lotus Cars in the black, financially, without making the Elise too common. (God, and Colin Chapman, save us from AudiTT ubiquity)
