Finally drove the blue seac back from Daventry this evening with new front suspension , has taken a fair bit of work but the ride is a hell of a lot better and no bang/crash over bumps . biggrin Wonderful drive back , even met up with another Tvr and stopped at petrol station for a few words . Those poor bds in humdrum tintops ! I've now got two newish front springs and two adjustable avo's to find a home for .

My question was directed re the new units?

I'm interested especially in the new spring rates as I'll have to go there shortly.

Adj bilsteins , 900lbs spring rate , it took a while to get done but they wanted it to work and not break as has happened to other mods.

Can you take a couple of photo's over the weekend?

Do you know what the stock spring rates are?

Cost?

Sorry for the questions Combine.

I was going Gaz route then Nitrons but not sure I can afford the latter right now.

Don't know the normal spring rates , but my ex springs are the correct ones for a 450se/seac type late model wedge , they are hardly used as I replaced them 15 mths ago , so are for sale. the bilsteins are £325 total ie 2 of , thats the cheap bit , its the cost of the work ie having specially made fixing points and alterations to top and bottom wishbones , tricky welding area .I'm glad I've done this mod though !Whats next on my list er...

yikes 900lb springs, and more yikes

That's the reaction I got when I worked out my spring rates for the front mod. It's all to do with the angle of the dangle and where they are mounted though.

What length damper have you had fitted? I adapted mine to take 11x8 AVOs with 900 springs. The ride is really planted and secure although may be just a tad hard. I have been thinking about stepping down to 800ish springs but haven't as yet because it isn't too bad to need doing straight away.

Would that be how yours feels??

Steve Guglielmi specialises in suspension set ups for track cars including tvr's , he has won the Tuscan championship so I am glad he sorted my wedge !biggrin The front end is not a hard set up anymore , difficult to describe , maybe 'planted' is apt !

Be nice to see where is has been mounted and strengthened, on the racer it's been heavily modified and strengthened with a cross brace added, but I'd still keep a extra eye on it, as I've managed to totally destroy the turret that holds the wishbones, the good thing was all the shock mods was un-affected and was the only think holding it all together, else the who lot would have come off.
