Most misunderstood car?

My suggestion:
The Corvette C6 Z06
The misconceptions:
1) It’s an American car so cannot handle.
2) It’s made of plastic.
3) It’s really heavy (at odds with 2)
4) It guzzles fuel.
5) Build quality is s
te.
6) Poor quality interior.
7) Terrible ride quality.
8) The driver has a miniscule penis.
The reality:
1) Nurburgring in around 7:43 and even I can hold 1g on corners. Drifts for fun.
2) It’s carbon fibre, aluminium, magnesium (and OK a little plastic here and there).
3) It weighs 50kg less than a Focus RS…
4) It averages 24 mpg and can hit 40 mpg on a run (100mph = 2200 rpm in 6th)
5) Major service needed every… 100,000 miles. Uses no oil. Never goes wrong.
6) This one’s true actually (although I’ve seen a lot worse – i.e. Suburu)
7) Very comfortable ride - better than a 996 turbo.
8) I might try one of those pump things

I pick the Ford Mondeo. It's sales have been declining since it's heyday in the 1990's with people prefering poverty spec German alternatives these days.
Fact of the matter is that it's a great car full stop. It has class leading comfort, practicality, safety yet still drives better than most of the competition and has one of the best interiors.
It's reasonably priced and even slightly exclusive (due to my first point).
Best of all you can have a proper family car without having to buy one of those godawful pseudo-mpvs you see everywhere which makes it great in my book.
Yet most people on the steet would turn their noses up just because it's a 'Mondeo'.

Any three wheeled Reliant from the Rialto (possibly earlier) on. They probably make the most sense when compared to the old mini.
I owned a Reliant Rialto for about a year and I can honestly say that it was the best fun car I have ever owned. They are much more fun to drive and faster and more economical than the old mini (I have owned a couple). The more recent ones do not tip over unless you are actually trying to do so, and they are very cheap to tax and insure and buy.
They teach you to drive smoothly in a way that no other car does and it has done me a lot of good now that I am driving 'proper' cars.

Yes I left that one out. LHD is not the problem you expect it to be - makes for safer overtaking because you really hang back for a clear view of the road (505bhp helps also). Teaches good road positioning and makes you feel like a right smart arse when you realise you are better changing gear with your right hand than your left (takes a while but not as long as you think). Only real problem I've had is when turning left and angled at junctions when you can't look through the side window to see what's coming from the right. In the Vette you can look out of the rear screen however. Adds to the experience, not detracts.
