I only have one key fob 'blipper' from when I bought the car. It was getting increasingly unreliable so I decided to replace the batteries. Now it won't work at all. Putting the old batteries back in doesn't fix it.

Fortunately the car is at home in my garage and not locked so at least I can get in. However I am due to be away for a few days from Saturday and if I can't get this sorted my wife (who is expecting a baby in about 3 weeks) will be stranded without a car.

Any ideas at all gratefully recieved.

Panic over.

I took the whole thing to pieces and it looks as if the metal 'strap' piece that holds the batteries in place had got slightly bent so that it wasn't quite making reliable contact on top of the batteries. Anyhow, applying a little 'adjustment' to this and replacing the circuit board seems to have fixed the problem.

If you've only got one blipper, why not get another one now while you can? Then you've got a spare if/when the old one gives up the ghost.

It looked from some previous threads that getting another one was almost impossible. If anyone has done this and knows how to get another I would be interested.

The link below gives some details on how to get spare key fobs. Also, if you have the code, you can get them from a TVR dealer for about £45 + VAT

I got a spare one for the Griff from a place down the road for about £30, IIRC - although that wasn't the same kind of alarm as in the Cerb. Might be worth ringing round a few suppliers to see what kind of a reaction you get?

Have fun.

had almost the same problem when i lost my fob completly.
i ended up buying a second hand security system from bell hill motors. the company could not supply a new fob even with the code and meta the manufacturer has discontinued their re programming of the immobiliser.
i have since heard from my dealer in jersey that a company is now offering a reprogramme service and have sent my original system to them, give ken hudson a ring he may be able to give you a contact.01534878847
