Just finishing a head gasket job on my Pajero 2.8TD.

Old temp transmitter is U/S because the plastic is fatigued and broken. Factors and main dealer say there are 2 sorts - both same size - A 2 terminal one - over the counter. or a one terminal version -They've NEVER sold one but can be obtained from Japan in about 2 weeks!

Trust mine to be a one terminal type! But why not fit the 2 terminal one and connect to one of the terminals? Would that work? My thinking is that it's only a semiconductor earthing the power in the lead to it.

The other terminal would need earthing too, so you can try it.
Most temp senders work in the same temp=resistance range, but you never know!

Thanks mate. Best prospect so far is that t'interweb identifies an Iveco part as interchangable.

Either way it looks like I can get the car back on the road!
