Quarter Milers Wanted
Want to take your car up the strip and represent PistonHeads? The challenge is on!
Discussion
Ted
Would a Tuscan Challenge car be bending the rules?
I'll be bringing No 6 up to PistonFest anyway for Leven Technology's stand. I can ask TVR whether they will be happy for me to run it on the strip if you want? (its just 'testing' after all
)
It might just give the pro's something to worry about!

I'll do it, but you've all got to promise to give me a hand swapping gearboxes on Sunday, normaly breaks one doing lots of hard launches.

What are the rules on this - I will be there with my race car on the day (assuming this doesn't happen on the same day I am actually racing - I still dont know if it will be saturday or sunday yet).
Doubt it will make too much of an impressive display and I don't think it has ever pulled a standing start (we always make rolling starts)
But if the rules allow for slicks (in the dry at least) and a non-road legal car then I would be game.
At the moment (when the fuel pump is running at the correct pressure) I should get a 0-60 time of about 4s (simulated thanks to those rolling starts)
---------------------------------------------
edited to say - I've just reread the original post and guess I've ruled myself out already as I can't be there on both days (at least not at the moment - I haven't actually entered the race yet)

thats the way I help as well
I'd be up for lending a hand if need it Matt, although you'll have to tell me what to do.
Cheers lads, I'll bring the backup gearbox then ;-)
Matt
Our Viper is running in the 11,s at around 130mph terminal speed,we have a few more mods to do in the next few weeks and hope to push towards the 10,s with speeds in excess of 130,would love to go up against "the invite cars" but NO DRAG RADIALS....these are almost like v.soft slicks and even a Sierra would pull a fast 60ft time with these on,the drag racing boys love to use them as it gives a very big advantage..ROAD TYRES ONLY PLEASE!.....Would love to do this...please!(Does being put in the "sin bin" exclude me TED?!)
