Anyone else going or done one of these novice days? I wasn't sure whether it was likely to end with a large pile up of enthusiastic drivers at the first corner or I'd get flagged down for driving the way I do to work but it was cheap and I've never done a track day in my own car.

You won't find a first corner like the Monaco Grand Prix.

You'll love it and in my view the emergence of th3e novice only track day is one of the most positive things to come out of the track day world in ages.

Get yourself well read on how the day works, what to do to the car and what you need for yourself.

The briefing will be important and the sighting laps where everyone follows a course car are vital. It's a bit awe inspiring first time the other side of the barriers and the world looks different.

Oh, and after the sighting laps, go and have a cup of tea and watch for 30 mins or so, plenty of time after that to enjoy the circuit while the eager ones let their cooked brakes cool down.

Excellent advice thank you smile I've been on track before and I'm pretty confident behind the wheel (no expert but pretty familiar with the boundaries). Just never put the two together and risked my own pride and joy on a track before.. or been to Snetterton new or old.

I'll let you know my vote after the day (hopefully without crash photos!)

Snetterton 300 is simply fabulous and as a whole Snett is a brilliant venue for trackdays and the process of enjoying them.
