Removing the air intake 'snorkle'...
Discussion

Just been on some american guys website 'porscheboy' and he hasnt left anything standard on his boxster, anyway he is showing the removal of the 'snorkle' from inside the air intake box saying this improves sound and breathablilty, just wondering if the UK cars have this item and what are the pro's/cons for removing it?

It's called a snorkle for a good reason - a good analogy with what function it performs. It allows the air intake to suck air from further away from the car. Without it you run the risk of warmer, dirtier air from around the side of the car being sucked in - this may do your engine damage in the longer term.
