As far as I can tell there are no salvage bargains unless you can buy direct from the insurer or at salvage auctions where insurers offload them. I've been looking for a Chimaera for a project and from a 'dealer' can have a still damaged category C/D for £4000 (at best) or a scruffy runner, HPI clear, from someone just looking to sell their toy off for the same.
I know what they buy these for so why would I grant them a minimum 100% mark-up to own one? I know I look daft but I'm not quite that stupid.

Thank's for all the replies regarding the fire damaged Tamora. I think I'll start looking for a good, straight car.
Good idea but i would not dismiss CAT D cars from a good source in a up and working condition, I am on my second Cat D TVR and both have been great to my over the last 4 years get a bit more car for your cash if you plan on keeping them. There was a thread in the Cerbera section where the guy bought a CAT D and literally stripped it and started again, read the progress with great interest. I saw that Tam too last week actually, got the feeling the prices were a tad optimistic as it will need extensive re-wiring and checking, never seen a fire from the instrument binnacle before?
