Good route near High Wycombe?
Discussion
Looking for a good route near High Wycombe for a hoon and then breakfast... similar to our typical Loomies run but something that preferably stays between the M40 and M4. Looking to go for an early morning blat with a Mate who lives around there and needs to be home by 10 latest due to kids etc. Suggestions much appreciated

Being local I can think of a few at the moment.
The Old Wycombe Road between Marlow Bottom turn & Handy Cross (J4 M40), runs nearly alongside the A404.
The A4010 between West Wycombe & Princes Risborough has a few bends but is now a 50 limit.
If you don't mind going further out beyond Risborough, A4129 towards Thame is nice straitish NSL road......
Beyond that the B4011 is good drivers road heading towards A41 & Bicester.
Hope this helps.

Some minor roads between High Wycombe and Aylesbury are pretty good. There is a route north from HW up towards Chequers which is twisty enough t be fun, well surfaced with little traffic and still NSL. Or you can go beyond West Wycombe and turn right towards Beldlow Ridge, then either turn right again towards Aylesbury or continue through Chinnor to Thame, which has plenty of breakfast opportunities and a big car park in the centre of town. From Thame you can head south towards Nettlebed and Henley, then back through Marlow to Wycombe.
The road from Aylesbury to Buckingham is terrific, but I've not yet found a good way to get round Aylesbury.

Ha, you seem to take the same roads as i do when out for a blast, I live in west wycombe so always go aylesbury/thame way. I always finish the trip with a blast up the a40 from Aston Rowant up to Stokenchurch, nice and twisty but two lanes going up the hill so you can really throw the car around! And it's never busy either, just the odd cyclist to watch out for.Gassing Station | Thames Valley & Surrey | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
