What're you trying to connect?

I've got an iPod kit connected...

I was hoping to hear that there would be two AUX-in sockets so I could connect my iPod the way, after upgrading the suspension and having tyres due for replacement next month I want to keep other expenses on the car to a minimum!

I prefer the Aux-in method for iPods (or iPhone in my case). I've yet to see a head unit that controls an iPod better than the iPods own controls.

Can't get prosecuted for changing track or playlist as you can with the mk3 audio link kit though - whereas if a policeman catches you fiddling with your iPhone he might not be happy.

I think being able to change track and cycle into your different playlists is just perfect really, and all from the steering wheel!

raf_gti - I'll check tomorrow what connections there are!

I have mine mounted in a holder to the dash. Changing track is as legal as doing the same on the stereo that way wink

What holder do you use? Got a pic/link. Yet to find a good one for an iPhone.

It's actually in my Focus as I use a USB stick in the MX5. It's one that's mounted on the end of a flexi from the cig lighter socket so it keeps it charged up. Has an aux-out for the stereo input too which is a lot better than using the headphone out. There are better looking ones out there but it's perfect for the Focus. I'll take a picture and/or post a link later.

This is the one I have:
Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe For iPhone And iPod

The steering wheel remote is ok - does play/pause, fwd/next rwd/previous and shuffle/toggle. Battery is 2016 though so it doesn't last long.

Here's a picture of it in my Focus:
