Eh? Why do they keep talking about single seaters when its obviously a double bubble?

Regardless - who ever complained should be ashamed of themselves - I can only assume they have no idea about the history of Great Britain.

I can't think of many better sounds than a Merlin on full chat either.

EA times says that one person made one verbal complaint.

Daily Mail letting the facts get in the way again?

One verbal complaint is all it takes for a ban these days. It's just lucky that the noise man at the council likes the noise of a Spitfire. smile

There needs to be a counter complaint system from within the vilages around the airfield , where every vote in favour counters one vote against.

Must be an odd feeling when you make a complaint about noise and 3,600 people tell you to shut up!

When Filton Airport closes next year the residents of North Bristol will mourn the loss of our regular Spitfire air show frown

It is never intrusive and is very much a talking point loved by all I've ever spoken with.

Perhaps the council can name the individual who complained so that the locals can see who it was.....

Yes indeed. I saw the BBMF Lancaster at a VE display back in 1995. The low growl and then the roar of those four Merlins is indeed music.

This enrages me beyond belief.

A) It's a fantastic sound, those who disagree are wholly wrong and frankly heathen idiots.

B) It's a brilliant reminder of our heritage and to those who laid down their lives in order to protect us and our country.

Its akin to the absolute twunts who live near Goodwood, then complain about the noise, I honestly can't comprehend why you wouldn't want it flying, I'm sure they are even considerate with the times and days on which the aircraft is flown.

People have started to believe the daily wail.

And on a far more intresting note

It wasn't grounded. Who ratcheted up the angst - you or the Daily Mail?
