Whistler Rubber?

Off to Whistler soon for a week in the bike park.

Never been before, but I know a few regular posters have. I would usually take some fresh
2.5 Highroller supertackies and I've got matching swampthings if the weather is bad.

Anything else better? I'm after total grip rather than worrying about rolling resistance really.

It gets very dusty in the summer.

Consider it equivalent to the Alps. Oh, and you'll certainly need dual-ply, it's a rough place out there. Upper Garbanzo can be awful in the wet, so consider Spikes if taking on the roots.

Thanks, yes dualply is a must I'd say.

I've occationally gone a wide a 2.7, but had been warned about the dust and didn't think they'd 'bite' into dust as well.

I run 2.5 UST Minion's in the alps with no issues... Don't think I would like the added bulk of the 2.7's

Take the high rollers, don't bother with the swampthings. The park is all hard pack, you won't need mud tyres at all.

1 set of tyres will be fine for two weeks, as long as you aren't dragging those brakes! The park is a lot more forgiving on tyres than the alps as it generally has a lot less brake dragging involved.

Tyres are expensive there, at least 100CAD per tyre for maxxis dual ply by the time you chuck on taxes.

Dual ply 2.5 High Rollers are (or at least were) £30 each from Wiggle, too. Cheapest around!

as others have said really, high rollers are a good all rounder for whistler.
