Sunday, Bloody Sunday !

The sun was out, I'll polish the wedge I thought. So it was, I set about lovingly washing the blue bullet and then spending a further 2 1/2 hours waxing my baby until it shone like the northern star. So pleased I was with the finished article that I thought it deserved a run out in the fading afternoons sun. On my return, I carefully backed the gurgling machine into its garage and switched off the engine. One last admiring glance and I proceeded to pull the garage door down. The fading memory of the V8 sound was abruptly replaced by a scrape, pause, bang and scrape. The garage door was reopened to the sight of a smashed work lamp resting on the floor and a brand new 14" scratch down the bonnet. Nice.
I've just dragged myself to the computer after spending an hour in the corner weeping and my girlfriend telling me "its not the end of the world" - If only they understood............

Ouch
I've got loads of stuff on shelves in my garage; I think I'll just go and check they look OK......
I got the polish out today as well. As soon as I started to rub it off with a clean cloth, it started to spit with drizzle. I couldn't get the polish off, it just seemed to smear.
Wedge is back in the garage, and is looking decidedly streaky.

Talking of stupid 'I can't believe I did that' accidents, I was carefully pushing my old Griff out of the garage after it been laid up for a while (like it says in the Bible). All was fine until the front wheels cleared the garage floor, then a normally shallow slope took over and the car rolled slowly but unstoppably back until it ground to a halt on a BMW. Luckily the BMW was unscathed (it was mine anyway) but I got a nice 8" scrape behind the Griff's wheel arch for my trouble... doh.
Reversed the girlfriends Peugeot into the garage yesterday. Was so busy watching the door mirror to see it didn't hit the garage door frame that i didn't see the reflection of the rear bumper & arch gliding along the pillar midway down the garage wall in the mirror itself!!!
Also, not quite self inficted but some t****r ran a screwdriver, key or similar down my Chimaera front wing a few weeks ago in Hexham Coop car park. Doesn't it make you want to love the little B******s and help them on their merry way. White undercoat beneath the blue metalic paint, by the way, looks reely luverly!!

Have to watch how far it goes. I push it in, slowly. Wait for the jokes
