had a survey done for a remortgage on a buy to let, surveyor requested structural engineers report, which i had done, came back ok said all movement was longstanding (property 110 yrs) recommended gully/drainpipe tested and repaired/replaced if necessary within next 12 months. the surveyor has not answered the lenders question regarding the SE report satisfactory and so the mortgage has been declined. i spoke with surveyor and he told me he could not understand why decined, neither can the SE. SE has said he will speak with lender on monday and talk them through report. but the lender seems adamant that the surveyor has the last word. would it be possible for the SE to speak with the valuer, i can pass on his phone number as this was written on the survey. is it worth appealing as i have spend £700 so far
