accessing boot on early chim if button fails

can anyone e-mail the way "in" to the boot if the button fails on my 1993 chim please. I'm off to france and spain after le mans and dont want to be left stranded with the tools in the boot. Last year I needed to use the emergency entrance to get into the boot on the S3 on the way back from LM.

Just had an e-mail exchange with a fellow PH with a way to get into the later cars but this applied to those without the backlit number plate which i have...

I did the lock the keys in the boot thing at the Gorge Rumble (only 80 miles from home). After you have sorted the first part a 'special tool' may be required for the second bit depending on how things are positioned.

I've a 98 Chim and had to get into the boot when the electic switch failed.

Anyone wishing to know the way to do it, email me so's I can just send a general email out to everyone needing to know.

was thinking the same so I bowed out of the thread to be honest guys. no disrespect intended but when I see names I dont know well through PH - especially without any pic of a chim in the profile etc (not that necessarily validates ownership!) then I have shyed away...

99 Chimaera - same problem. Locked the keys in the boot at the petrol station the other day, did the obvious but still couldn't find the way in. No hole where it's supposed to be! Luckily combination of good bloke at the petrol station and a spare set of keys 5 miles away solved the problem!

Could someone e-mail me the facts. Dealer obviously lied to me when I picked the car up!!

Guys, unless you got a little bit of history on P/H I'm afraid you ain't gonna get a lot of help on this subject.

It could be your car that gets entered by some unscrupulous person.

If you really need to know, talk to your garage next time you take it in for a service and ask them to show you.
