Just for fun-

If you did ever decide to chop in your Chim for another TVR on a realistic budget, what would it be?

For me, I would probably be, in order of preference:

1) Cerbera 4.2 or 4.5 - because I have always loved them!
2) Tamora 4.0 S6 - More modern S6 car - continue roof off motoring!
3) Tuscan 4.0 S6 - More modern S6 car - Only hard-top in budget.

What about you?

I'm undecided between a Tuscan and a Cerbera (AJP only), guess I'll decide when I've been out in them both which I prefer. Unless of course my budget improves somewhat then it would be a Sagaris.

Similar to the OP, just different order.

1) Tuscan - Always liked the looks, and drove a 3.6 Tuscan 1 a while back. The steering, razor throttle-response, noise and rocket-powered straight-line performance made my Chimaera seem like an Austin Maestro. I actually prefer the noise of the RV8, but the S6 runs it close.

2) Tamora - Hated it when first revealed, thought PW must have been on drugs. Remember the chrome light surrounds? The production model was changed thankfully, and it has really grown on me. Quite rare, too.

3) Cerb - Wanted one ever since Clarkson vids with the 'pink' press car. In fact I recently considered chopping my Chim in for an AJP-powered Cerb, but having spent £5k in the past year I reckon it's best to get some use out of the Chimaera rather than start the process again!

I did this tail end of last year Ended up with a Cerbera Just kinda fell in to it a deal came up and i took it, It was just time for a change for me as i had run out of jobs to do on the Chim.

Was really wanting a tuscan Mk1 I doubt any of the T car will look dated tbh.

This is what has been floating my boat lately

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2784731.htm

Buying a cheap T350 with an engine issue or galactic mileage and then having Dom drop a 430 lump into it with the associated uprated gearbox, suspension, brakes etc is also an option if the budget doesn't exceed a sensible value against the finished car biggrin

Lighten RV8 rotating assembly (esp. flywheel), fit ACT twin or triple throttle induction - sorted. smile

Vastly prefer the Chimaera steering to the Mk1 Tuscan's (way too nervous, especially with the 18" wheels wanting to follow every rut and camber in the road, anyway) myself, but then over here you'll be driving 90% motorway miles to get anywhere...

As I don't see a fixed head coupe or targa top weekend car giving the same sort of cachet when driving at speeds that won't kill me or get me banned, the only sensible way to go for me would be Tamora or Tuscan convertible - unfortunately I think neither is as pretty or sounds as good as the Chim.

Would love a Cerb or Sag next to it, though. smile

I went to a Tuscan 1 S. Drive one before you decide; from the driver's seat you don't notice the roll hoop.

Different but just as good IMO. Although my Chimaera has a standard exhaust and the Cerbera doesn't

So to answer the OP Question, my next TVR will be a Tuscan. Still measuring up the garage, but with a bit of crap culling and precision parking I think 3 could fit.

I really don't feel it from the cerb both have sports exhausts the cerb can be droning at certain revs, sounds not to bad at full chat but the RV8 sounded good no matter what revs you were at. And beat a Chim with roof down and just as it hits 5000 rpm sounds like porn!!!!
