Hi Just bought an XJ6 X300 but the radio doesn't work. It clicks when it powers up and will select radio stations. The bass/trebble lights up but won't adjust and it accepts a cassette. It just won't actually function as a radio/cassette. It will tune to a station but no noise !!
Any ideas?

The radio on the X300 has 2 separate blocks of connectors on the back.

- for the power etc
- for the speakers output

If only the first is connected then you would get the symptoms you are experiencing.

That is the good news as it is just a case to plug this back in. The bad news is that it is a bit of a faff to get to the back of this.

Ash tray out first
Then the gear console surround
Undo the 2 plastic wing nuts under the trim panel just in front of the ash tray and work your way in.
It is all quite straight forward and you can see what else is required at this point to get to the head unit
Hope this helps.

That sounds promising. I've seen a tutorial on youtube on how to get to the radio so I'll try that tomorrow. Nice one !!!

Hi Not too hard to get the radio out. All seems ok, thought I'd check connections and of course now it wants a code which I will get from Jaguar on Monday. Maybe it will re-set it? Ariel mast does nothing as well, no whirring or clicking, nothing. I wonder if this the same fault, no signal being sent or completely seperate. Any advice gratefully accepted
