This

Into this;

I've always wanted either a rally or touring car. Now, the cheapest 206 WRC i found was 200,000 euros... The 1999 206 in the clarion sponsored white colour, is one of my favourite cars ever cloud9

So, seeing as you can find a 206 on autotrader for £400, i was wondering how much a convert would cost? Firstly, how much a full conversion, in terms of steering, engine, shocks, brakes etc, and secondly, a cosmetic conversion, maybe just the interior and exterior....

Hmmmm i think i need to partake in the lottery....

To do a full conversion would probably cost more than buying a used real one, they don't tend to sell them for profit. A good cosmetic job would be less than £10,000 depending on the materials used for any bodywork changes and work needed if you go for a bare metal respray.

Just remember the real ones are road legal because they have to be to meet various regulations so buying a real one means you can legally drive it on the road, if you can get insurance and suitable ear protection wink

You need to start with a 206GT (not GTi) which already has the body kit, or Forsythe, as its also known.

Having a rally car for the road would be fun!

However, I feel that unless you would be happy with just a stbox 206 in a cheap body kit, a decent Scooby or Evo would work out much cheaper.

Alternatively, how much fun would it be to have a car that goes like a WRC pug but looks loke a bog standard 206!

Driving a full bore rally car round the roads would be fun for about a day.

Buy a Scooby or an Evo and be done with. You can buy stickers for peanuts on ebay if that's your thing.

Cosmetically I'd say it's not too difficult. However the 4WD conversion may cost you a bit...

Go on, do the cosmetic only conversion. It really will make my year!

Works Rally teams that build and pre develop cars before they even touch tarmac or gravel spend Millions, people do make road going rally rockets though there is a guy with a MK6 Fiesta on PH that runs cosworth running gear and has 600+ bhp.

Remember seeing it in Fast Ford mag a year or 2 ago.

Probably 50-60K depending on what spec you choose.

I think it would be much more entertaining to buy the rally car and make it look like the silver one. driving

You can do it cheaply - this guy did a decent job with his 6R4 replica:

If only the real ones were 5 doors, much more practical.

Nothing at all! I gave a lift to someone that claimed that his bog standard 1.6 206 was a veritable rally car, with a rally car chassis. Right.

Naa it isn't, the give away is the radio aerial, the proper 6r4 never had a stereo, it's just a good replica wink
