Front lights and rear lights.
Discussion
Firstly, I posted the other day about different rear lights from www.quadconversions.com and I have since found that the overall length and width of the panel is the same as the dimension of the rear of the S, the flush fitment is also the same, so in theory it should fit. The dimensions of the rear light panel is 147cm x 17cm.
There are 2 styles, one has McClaren F1 flush lights and the other has flush LED round rings (you need to view them to decide which you prefer). The first type I mention are £265 inc VAT and the LED ones are £289 plus VAT. Not that cheap but at least we know that they are likely to fit now. If they don't fit ...they are easy to modify being made of GRP.
And now a question.....
Does anyone know whether you can get flush clear covers for the S series head lights, like the ones fitted to the racing Tuscan and Griff?

This has been adressed many times. Podie and I, amongst others were going to look in to it, but my efforts have since died for the moment. I will be persuing it again, once I have fixed the mirrors, tappets, leads, and shocks next week.
Cheaper than a body shop filling in all the rear panel and fitting new round light units I suspect!
IMHO, the LED afterburners are probably way too moden for an S series and would perhaps look a bit out of place but the McClaren F1 style shown on the link here on a CRX are the same and look very nice indeed.
There is of course the extra expense of spraying the rear panel. The whole converion should cost £300 ish.
Again, IMHO the escort lights spoil what is a very nice looking car.

Thanks Colin, if I find out anything I'll also post info here. I know what you mean about having a long list of Tiv chores, I'm hoping my water pump will hold on until I get the new engine, all other bits aren't engine related at the moment!

The number plate does fit in a recess but having said that mine looks like it is the usual size??
looks like it is but I think you will find a standard plate is about 5 - 6 mm too big. I have cut down a few plates now to make them fit the S
Remember that the rear isnt just lights and number plate though Rich - there is a little fibreglass between the lights and plate, albeit small.
I must say, being a TVR, I would be amazed if its the exact size as the escort!

Well it does have the same measurements, I was amazed too
The escort doesn't have the same deep number plate recess as the TVR but that wouldn't matter as it fits over it. The most important thing is the length and the height but you may find that it needs to be shpaed a little behind the panel because of where the TVR rear panel comes out a little more either side of the number plate.

And thinking about it, the recess is tapered slightly IIRC, which would affect the useable width.
KentishS2 said:From what I remember of the Escort, the number plate light is on the bumper, but the panel would obviously be covering up the number plate light on the TVR, so you'd have to come up with some arrangement for that too!

I too looked at the quad conversions afterburners, but I would prefer 3 per side rather than the 2 on their kit. This is because their kit will not be road legal AFAIK. The one shown has no reversing light, no fog light and, more importantly, no reflectors.
For those that care, the kit to do a DIY job is available here, www.roguesystems.co.uk, go "products" then "components". It works out at about £150 for 6 lights and they should fit in the space quite easily.
Andy
Oh, and yes the Marcos is ridiculous

Andy, you are right about the other lights (fog & reverse). If I do go for the conversion I will need to address this problem and I was thinking of adding on a Westfiled style lamp on the under side curve of the body. The reflectors I already have fitted at each end of the rear number plate. This is because I have grey tinted clear rear lights at the moment without red reflectors.
