Ill start off here to me it's the Ferrari V12's of the 1960's at 5,500rpm.

Stunning and I hope they have a showing this silverstone classic.

Im certainly not a fan of modern f1 noise - last modern f1's were the v8/v12 early 90's post turbo era.

The V10's and Honda/Ferrari V12s' from the early 90's were lovely.

The one in the clip is a V16 - the H16 was used in much later BRMs from around the mid / late 60's

BRM V16 - I was at a race meeting at Donington many many years when they had three of the beats on the track at the same time.

They had their own car, Nick Masons car & a third one although i dont know whose car that was.

What a noise they made. IIRC they shut down the whole circuit into total silence so that the noise could be hear around the track - i was at the bottom of the Craner Curves & you could hear the noise bouncing off the circuit walls as the cars lapped the track & hammered down the straight under the old Dunlop Bridge.

I seem to recall that they even managed to delay flights into & out of East Midlands airport for few minutes as well.

It is well worth buying the two books produced about Nick Masons cars because both have a CD of engine noises whcih includes the BRM V16, D-Type Jaguar, McLaren F1 GTR to namE but three.

Put it in your CD player, turn it up loud & listen to the roar of the V16.

Quite simply the best race car engine noise ever.

Last year at Silverstone I thought the C63 AMG medical car sounded much better (and was also being driven by someone who wasn't afraid to do a bit of drifting!)

I just love screaming V10s
It was my first F1 experience and i have never forgotten it.

It's probably not in the same league as the BRM V16
and the Ferrari 412t1's V12 but i like it.

This, however did this configuration run in F1 or GP? Otherwise Ferrari V12 takes some beating.
