Handbrake warning light and buzzer - E46 M3
Discussion
Coming home today on the motorway, the red brake warning symbol started flashing and beeping as though the handbrake had not been released properly. Tried pushing the lever down a bit and it stopped....for a few minutes; then started again. Did the same and... same again after a few minutes. Everything felt fine with the brakes; pedal pressure and feel were as normal so I carried on.
Having looked in the handbook, it says that the buzzer only sounds when the handbrake hasn't been released properly, so I don't think it is anything more serious than maybe the small pressure switch under the handbrake lever.
I checked the fluid; that looks OK and I know the pads are fine.
Anybody else had this or does anyone know what the problem might be.
Any help or advice would be great
Thanks
