What car could this be?

I guess our car was about 5 years old, maybe older.

Thats all I know.

Any suggestions what it could be?

Agreed; my grandparents had one when I was a kid. Definitely a Standard.

The radiator grille looks too wide for an 8. The badge at the bottom suggests a 10.

Cobbled streets. We still had those in the 1980's when I was driving around "oop north". Amazingly slippery when ice or snow on them. Those were the days.
