Do you keep old tax discs?

While browsing the classifieds, it strikes me how many people keep all old tax discs for their car. I've never bothered. Although i'm starting to think i should have and should now start keeping them.

I've kept every MOT. Do people think it's woth keeping tax discs too????

due to utter laziness, quite a few previous ones are still in the holder, underneath the current one :P

Only accidentally, since I never bother to take them out of the holder; I just shove the new one in front of the last one.

Which reminds me. I still have the 1961 tax disc on the car with the current one behind. A traffic warden with no sense of humour tried to say that I had a hell of a lot of back tax to pay. Oh and yes, I keep every MOT and tax disc, in fact changed it yesterday.

We have all of the old tax disks from when the car was new in the wifes car. Don't know why really, the last owner kept them all from new and we just carried it on.

I burn them as a symbol of what i've actually just done with real money.

It's surprising how many drivers/owners keep the expired RFLs. When replacing a windscreen I go to take the tax disc holder off the cracked glass but sometimes end up with a full deck of discs - two a year - from the previous decade (and most of the time they insist they're put back in the holder!).

I keep mine too but I only put the new one infront of the old.

No idea why I keep them though I never look at them.

I keep mine, and when buying one of my old cars getting every old tax disc was nice to see.

Yep - I keep all mine in a file.
Not entirely sure why - but it looks nice when you produce a fully documented folder containing everything about the car to a potential new owner I guess.

I always keep mine... the damn things cost so much I want to extract maximum value from 'em!

Saying that though; got to tax my Volvo Amazon next month... as it's free I'll have a huge grin on my face!

I also think they're a nice thing to see with the service history of a car.

Nope, don't keep mine.
I keep a decent history of docs/receipts for my car, but can't say I think it would add anything to the history file for my car.

I guess it's part of demonstrating how well you look after your car. Like when an owner have a complete service history with every invoice not just a book of dealer stamps (which people often call full service history).

I keep all mine. Its a bit of paper relevant to the car so it can't hurt.

doesnt show how well you looked after the car at all , would keeping every pay n display ticket and fuel reciept make it a better car ?
