I work in Bracknell and can see the Broadmooor alarm tower from my desk. The last 2 weeks I've not heard it go off at all (it should have gone off just now in fact at 10am Monday) and my co-worker says he hasn't heard it for ages either.

Anyone know what's going on?

How fast can you run?

No seriously, I'd be grabbing my keys and heading for the exit, even a heavily sedated physco could cover 2 miles in 20mins.....

hehe

And by the sounds of it they've had one escape every week at the same time for ages...

I used that as my alarm clock to get out of bed

I've now over slept for the last few weeks

Definitely did go off yesterday as I was at home yesterday morning (Jennetts Park) and was able to hear it for a good minute or so. Pretty loudly too.

Yeah it definitely went off yesterday morning. But I couldn't hear it with the windows shut at all, maybe that's what's happened? I think it used to be louder but as I've been at university for 4 years and just got back I barely hear it anymore, so not sure about that one.

Wind speed and direction makes a huge difference too. Some Mondays I can barely hear it, and yet others like yesterday sounds like it is just round the corner.

I'm sure I heard it in blackwater yesterday, I live close to the meadows where theres a siren. At least I think I heard it, I'm so used to hearing it at 10am on a Monday if it stoped I'd probably still hear it.

I don't know why they bother with the siren anymore. If I was an inmate I would plan to escape at 10am on a Monday. That'd fool 'em.

That's why there's an all clear tone after the test. Though admittedly I didn't know that's what the constant tone is until about 10 minutes ago. It would also go off for a lot longer if someone did escape.

They rely on them all being too nuts to work that out.
