Removing Stickers

My 6 year old daughter decided to cover the rear doors and the bootlid of my car in some little princess style stickers on Sunday afternoon.

I do not know what type of glue she has used but they are a nightmare to try to remove without damaging the paint.

Short of sitting there for hours and scraping them off with my fingernails, is there any tips/products I can use?

Label Remover spray works well. It's got some sort of citrus stuff in it, so you car will also smell of oranges for ages.

warm the stickers up with a hair dryer not too much otherwise they will become soft and start slowly pulling from as near to the part stuck as possible if you pull from the edge once they lift it increases the chance of tearing. Support the sticker with your other hand can also help. Patience is key.

Apply gentle heat to them and spray a little sticker remover onto them.

They should lift easily then.

Try gently heating with a hairdryer - it works for Vinyl stickers. It should melt the glue.

Might be worth sticking one to something less valuable and try the heat method before attacking the car just in case it makes the glue set harder instead of melting it.

Leave it in the sun! should be warm enough to peel off gently?

I've just got a very old GB sticker of the back of my car by pouring a kettle of boiling water on it...heats the glue and softens the sticker...took twenty seconds

Then I would use Autoglym tar remover to get rid of any excess glue. Petrol also works...

WD40 dissolves sticky stuff and should be gentle on your paintwork. AG Intensive Tar Remover is a good shout too.

Didn't use superglue did she?

Normal thinners and polish afterwards.

I will try some of these tomorrow and will feed back the results. I am praying she did not use super glue.
