Question regarding replacement of DSG Mechatronics unit

I've had my Mechatronics unit replaced under warranty and since this has been done i've been noticing a click/clunk noise when starting from standstill or coming to a stop.
It doesnt do it every time but does do it very frequently.
I took it back to the garage who did the work, they took it for a quick drive and it did it, they had a quick look but were unable to see any issues. They've said they need to see it for longer but dont believe the issue is related to replacement of the Mechatronics, they think it sounds driveshaft related.
Before i take it in and start risking large diagnostic bills, does anyone know if this problem could be related the the replacement at all? the diagnostic of the DSG took many weeks so i'm quite in tune with the noises my car makes, i'm pretty sure it wasnt making these noises prior to replacement and it started as soon as i got it back.
Not knowing the Mechatronics intimately i dont know how mechanical this unit is, my understanding is it's mainly electrical?
I'm obviously concious that faults can occur at any time and i may be unlucky that one fault gets fixed for another to happen.

Best bet is to use something like a chassis ear style device basically a clip on microphone makes finding creaks moans groans and clicks in your case easy to find
It's not uncommon for cv Joints to move fractionally inside the splined hole in the hub making a creaking noise I believe Volvo had a technical service bulletin advising if a vehicle did this to loctite the Joint in the hub and torque up. This is of course something hasn't been left loose
