Insurance for a Polish person

Trying to get insurance for my girlfriend on her Toyota Yaris 1.0

Key Facts:

Shes Polish and passed her test in Poland 6 years ago, recently transfered to an English licence

Never driven a car in the UK

No NCB/No points/No accidents

Permantly living in the UK since 2005

Online quotes come out around £500 which is fine and what I would expect. When she calls to accept the quote etc they are fiddling it and increasing the premium up to around 1000-1200.

Does anyone know anywhere that would be good to insure her given the circumstances?

Just to add, doesn't seem to be able to buy the quotes online... click more info and it asks you to call them.

try going online directly to the company instead of price comparison websites....try Aviva or Direct Line

Give them a b0llocking over the phone, the quote they have given is the price they should be charging for the insurance. Quite a few companies have been trying this scam on comparison websites recently in the hope you'll just take the policy anyway.

They do say quotes are on an advised basis I guess so they are allowed to change them to whatever the hell they want really.
