last minute

Hi,

when is a holiday last minute, do any members have any experiences?
how close should you leave it? did you save much?
was it worth the wporry?

appreciates your hints and tips,
also any goods websites?

Quite a few years ago, arrived at L*t*n airport at 5am to be told our villa company in Minorca had gone bust and we couldn't fly. Went back home to a pub serving breakfast, waited for 9am and rang the travel agent. Told them we had a boot full of suitcases and a pocketful of pesetas (gosh, it was a long time ago!).

The agent found us a villa within 100m of the previous one - the holiday cost half as much (although involved flying out from L*t*n and back in to Stansted).

Moral of the story is, be prepared to be flexible. This might involve using different airports/airlines - maybe even moving after one week to another resort. Maybe only 10 days instead of 14 etc...
