Do you suppose the reason for it not working when you got the car was because someone had disconnected it (or hit it with a hammer) due to the fact that a fault caused it to keep going off? Just an idea ...
Otherwise the garage that fitted it need to take another look and get it right this time. It might be that the new siren is not an exact match for the old alarm system or that they've crossed some wires. On my Chimaera the siren is a separate unit from the control unit (which is in the cabin), so I assume the control unit decides when to trigger the alarm, then sends a signal to the siren - maybe they've just crossed those wires somehow?
Good luck.

My reply was posted to the incorrect alarm query.
What I said was "that you should try dis-conecting the siren and cleaning the terminals in the front by the siren." Obviously do this when it is de-activated.
The 4 wires are critical as one is a digital signal and needs to be good.
I have just learnt a fair bit about META systems having installed a new one, with fobs, new codes and siren.
