Just Discovered "Wheeler Dealers"
Discussion
Look up the PH Wheeler Dealers drinking game, it's great fun.
The numbers rarely add up, but it's more or less the only TV show here in the UK where a bloke attacks a tatty motor with a spanner, and makes it better. I've learnt a few things from it, which makes it good programming in my view.

You're in luck because they're making a new series of it in the USA.
sweet! They have plenty of taking a heap and making it an awesome car shows in the US but of course that is with multiple experts who are focused on a cost no object end result easily spending 30-50K on the cars the thing I like about wheeler dealers is that it is more for the regular guyPaulFontaine said:
I am intrigued so far I only saw the lotus esprit (the mechanic guy earned his keep on that one) and the XJS episode
Edd China is also the builder of some really whacky cars, worlds fastest office/bed/lounge and bathroom
- http://www.cummfybanana.com/From what I can make out from Facebook, they've bought the cars and filmed that in the US, then taken them back to the UK to do the work on them. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1982-DeLorean-sale-/26080078...
They sell rest of the cars for cheap and want big money for the delorean. It is a super cool LOOKING car but has no go one of my neighbors dad had one when we were kids and it was the coolest looking thing ever. I like Ed a lot he does a good job and I think they should price the cars as if they got the work done accordingly. They could have got a lot more power out of the Subuaru
Just watching the Jensen Interceptor programmes, the thing that got my attention was how wonky the steering wheel was when Edd was turning it lock to lock to bleed the power steering. The wheel looked like it had taken a full face plant to it. No wonder if the brakes were as bad as they said they were

It is a good show, a few months back I spent my night shifts watching them all on YouTube, and I've learned a few things from it.
You couldn't factor in the labor that Ed puts in, as the cost would be astronomical, I see the show being based along the lines of something us average Joe's could do; we don't add our toil & labor onto the selling price of our cars!
I have to admit though that some things don't stack up, some cars you can clearly see have had shiny new bits added to the engine, but aren't mentioned as being fitted. The last episode I saw was about the P38 Range Rover, and I swear they replaced both headlights and indicators, but they only talk about buying one to replace the broken one.
Anyone here who's a member of the SXOC should search the forums for the show and Mike Brewer, you'll find a couple of long and very amusing threads on the subjects!

There is a version of WD (sort of) called "Chasing Classic Cars".
The difference is, the guy buys proper collectable cars, tweaks a carb, bit of wax & polish, then the rest of the programme is filmed at an auction where he makes a few dollars.
Dull, it is.
Nice cars though.
it's a bit odd, CCC. His idea of a full restoration appears to be an oil service and a washThe difference is, the guy buys proper collectable cars, tweaks a carb, bit of wax & polish, then the rest of the programme is filmed at an auction where he makes a few dollars.

Plenty of hate on the web re the dodgy deals, and the fact eds costs are never taken into concideration. So what, it's the best car program on tv. Just seeing old fords, jags, 205's, interceptors getting airtime is fantastic. Mikes reaction when driving that doggy old coswoof with "400bhp" was comedy. That interceptor was an eye opener!
Great program, mike provides the entertainment, Ed makes it interesting.
Try watching the used car roadshow or that bloke who builds kit cars/planes on cable - other low budget car shows and complete balls.
