Well I just finished watching a couple episodes and while I like tanner Foust the other two guys are just basically idiots on there. They are not funny, clever or witty also their little shenanigans look old and lame because we've already seen them done on the UK version a little innovation and some freshness would have gone a long way they copy the original to poor results. Luckily Adam Corolla is coming out with a show called "The Car Show" and he is funny and a real car guy so I look forward to that

Give it time, i felt the same but by then started finding it quite amusing especially the cadillac on the off road course!

The General Motors episode was pretty good too (I want a Roadmaster!) and the truck one at the end was brilliant.

Most Americans won' have seen the UK show, so it doesn't mean anything if they just change it about a bit from what's gone before on the UK show.
You also have to remember when TG cam back in it's new format it was nothing like it is now. Remember season 1 of the new format ? Looks very tame against season whatever it is now. The US show is just at it's start , the UK show is established and now has the big budget to do all the silly crap.

This, they don't even show season 1 on Dave, it was that bad.

Most Americans (that would watch the US version) have seen UK Top Gear though. It shows a fair bit apparently.

Agreed on the next point, I think it will grow and improve with time.

Only the ashes episode, the rest were dire.

By far and away the best episode of TG US was the season finale - very much in keeping with the UK epic trips, cross country in some cheap american 4x4s, with the dreaded toyota as backup if they failed. Epic, and very entertaining.

Hopefully they'll come back for a second season, it improved massively over its run.

Realistically I would have had the Toyota 4x4 over any of the other once gas hits about $5 here you'll see SUV's and truck gradually start to be replaced with hybrids. Very few people need the SUV of the massive proportions available here.
