Whats the score on getting a motorbike licence?

Firstly, im not a fan of bikes (im coming to this in a second), but want a bike licence. I know as a kid you need to get a cbt, then live on a moped for 2 years or something, but im 25 next month and have had a car licence for 7 years.

Somone mentioned something about getting a licence (only at 25) where there is no/less restricition on engine power?

Whats the procedure for this, and what needs to be done?

I dont want a fast bike, or a sports bike or a superbike. In fact, i know fk all about bikes and im not really a big fan of them, with the exception of this beauty (or bikes of a similar design. If it has a front number plate, generally i like it);



(Obviously the sidecar and mounted MG are options i do not require)

Does that mean you could use it with a sidecar on a car licence?

Depends if you can ride a bike already. Bare minimum for a full licence is:

CBT - 1 day of compulsory training and test at end

Mod 1 test (car park 10 min)
Mod 2 test (road 40 min)

If you cannot ride a bike already to the required standard you will need training on whats called DAS (Direct Access er..Something). This ranges from 2 to 5 days depending how much training you need.

It is beautiful. I love old 'army'(?) bikes. It will certainly turn a few heads.
