[quote=Henry Harris]I do not believe that owners of the later models, Griffith onwards, would recognise a Wedge as a TVR.
I'm with you on that one, the only time I've been spotted was in my 'S', which I only owned for one year, and that was by another 'S' owner. I've owned Wedges for about five years and never been spotted or even acknowledged except at TVR events.
The stealth button seems to be working and I don't feel the need to switch it off or the speed cameras might be able to see it to.

I always used to get waves from the newer T-car brigade when out in the Wedge (and a couple of spots in the forum from them). Had waves from Cerbs too. Griffs and Chimps were always about 50/50, for some reason.
Funniest was the S's - never got a wave back. I just put it down to envy and that I was a moving reminder that they bought the wrong 'older' TVR...

Dave is one of the chap's that knows what a Wedge looks like, with a name like wedgespanker, need i say more.See you at the Fest Dave.
jonny.
I make you right about "non-recognition", Dave "chimpafrolic" is an educated boy lads and maybe the exception to the rule...(do not underestimate him and get caught in a slangin match at the fest !!)
He's also a nice geezer despite owning a (very nice) Chimp !!
Having said that...i was the only wedge at the Ace cafe, and met some crackin owners of chimps, Griffs and a Tuscan (christ they are a tight fit if you are over 5'6").
Had a guy in a sagaris slow down and deliberately check the car out (but his windows were blacked out so i don't know if he was waving/smiling or gesticulating !!!)
Fo de ro de ra do day !!

I don't think there's too much snobbery soup,I get waved at by loads of different tivs, some obviously don't no their asses from their elbows but we can't all be perfect. Tobys getting it in his mini from all the other proper minis which is a bit of a laugh, which reminds me that it may still be our choice of transport for bbwf, hope there will be a parking space if that's the case.
Well i guess its down to the individual..Ive been waved at by other classic car drivers and everyone in my area looks round when they hear me coming and i always get a thumbs up so i suppose i shouldnt complain..Was lucky today as i was on the phone to my mate earlier who lives in north london and he stopped the conversation with an "F-ing hell..Its raining hailstones the size of golf balls"..Lucky it only rained here..I would hate to imagine what damage it would of caused to mine..
I wouldn't worry about it. I've always reckoned that the guys who don't wave back are the guys who bought a Tiv because they are cheaper than the car they really want. So in my book, not enthusiasts.
Not every owner is an enthusiast but every one who is knows damn well what a wedge is as it's in most cases the car we saw as kids and switched on the whole TVR thing.
Having said that, I've not seen a Wedge on the road for years but then looking at this forum most of the owners haven't seen their own wedge on the road for a long time
