http://www.saveonusedcars.co.uk/140062/save_stock....

Just spotted this at a local garage, and although I wasn't really looking for another car, it ticks a lot of boxes.

I'm new to RR ownership, and wondered what should I be looking for / asking when I go and see this tomorrow?

What are the main problems I may encounter?

Thanks in advance!

Get everything like wheel bearings checked as it shouldn't really be on 22inch wheels.

Check diff recall has been done (it will have been).

Check transmission as they are prone to failure at this age (more a problem on td6, but also on V8 - they are different boxes, but suffer from being sealed for life instead of having fluid flushed occaisionaly).

Check all bells and whistles work.

Much nicer.

They look lovely with no "pimp" wheels or chrome gypsy trinkets on them.

I thought the first one was OK, but to be honest if the Green one is in budget, and you don't buy it then you're crazy. FullFatRR forum members are the best to buy a RR from, and Andy's looks fantastic, and has all of the best upgrades, with none of the naff ones.

The 4.4 is an ideal candidate for the LPG conversion, and I would say BRC is THE best kit now (I know others will disagree and say Prins, but I speak from experience).

In terms of major expenditure, the things which can cost a lot are steering rack, and suspension, however there's no reason to suppose that you would suffer these problems, the 4.4 BMW is pretty bullet proof so long as you keep the cooling system in good nick.

Overall, L322 experience, whilst challenges can come along, is a fantastic experience, it's one of those cars which leads you to always want to pop out for something, or to go for a long drive. You'll often have a niggling thing not working, but this is down to the exceptional level of standard specification. The reputation for unreliability is not really deserved, there have been a couple of major problems which affected almost all cars, the majority of which have been fixed under recall, the one you'll want to check has been done is the front diff recall, however I'd be amazed if Andy's car hadn't been done.

The only other risk area is the gearbox, if the fluid isn't changed it can run into problems, however again I suspect that Andy's car (the green one), will have been done. It's worth checking whichever car you go for, and if it hasn't been changed then get it done, it'll costs a couple of hundred pounds, could save you a couple of thousand.

May advice would be to go for it!
