My V8S is currently in at Peninsula for a 12k service and they have just phoned to tell me that one of the wheels is badly bent!

Cannot say that I had noticed this, but had thought that my wheels were in very good condition. So, where to find 'one' OZ 8 spoke wheel?

I'll have a trawl through the PH classifieds, but thought check with fellow S owners first.

I had previously posted regarding alternative wheels for the S. I do like the look of the Chimaera style, but would like 16" wheels front and back (if possible?), rather than the usual 15" front and 16" rear. Perhaps this is the time to look into this futher?

Not sure. I'll find out when I pick the car up tomorrow. What's the deal with straightening alloys anyway?

Hmmm, 'tis an option. Hope to be along to the BBQ on Sunday. Perhaps we should discuss this over a beer or two!

Do I need to do anything to the hubs...?

do a search mate. I posted something up about it years ago. Suffice to say, it wasn't that straight forward I seem to remember.

I had a bent one straightened (cue podie) and re welded about 3 years ago.

Not me I hasten to add it was my mechanic who went a little slap happy.

So it is possible, you will have to ring round all of the wheel refurbers in your area, as Devon is a bit far from Manchester!

I now know why I sold my OZ 8 spokes so quickly with tyres for silly cheap money, perfect condition too!

If you search on the web you should be able to find a very similar style to the Chim wheels, Fox used to do some almost the same but have since discontinued them but I have seen several others.

I did buy a set of Chim style wheels for my S but didn't like them and have since bought a set of 17" wolfrace CAM295's. Pictures of car will be posted later hopefully.

A good place to look for a bargain is the clearance section here, new 17" wheels with new tyres from £475: - www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=96&strPageHistory=cat

They were very good when I purchased mine and the wheels came the following day.

I would advise you look for a set with a fitment of 4 x 108 PCD ET10-15 the same as a Peugeot fit. Any wheels with a greater offset (a higher number such as ET 35 will require extra spacers).
