Due to HSBC being a gang of noshers and insisting on sending me a SecureKey I now wish to move to another bank who doesn't thrust their idiocy against my tonsils all the time.

Very simple requirements:

No silly arse calculators to log into online banking, I am not a spaz and can keep a password secret.
Need a savings account
Need a current account.

How easy is it to move my bits and bobs over? I've had this account for over 10 years so to change everything over manually would be horrendous!

Thanks PH for your help, I'm proper wound up by this SecureKey sheehite.

Santander online banking is quite sensible, including a personalised anti-phishing image.

Sadly, the actual banking bit sucks small albino donkey dicks. Sorry.

The Co-Op. Recently set up a joint account with my wife and asking them to transfer all the DDs and STOs over. All worked brilliantly except for the Council Tax, and it looked like the issues was with the council rather than Co-op.

Never had any real problems with them, and any small issues that I did have were dealt with swiftly. But I'm one of their 'Premium investors' so it's in their best interests not to p*ss me off.

Natwest.

And it shouldn't be too hard. Just be careful to make sure that all your direct debits are moved correctly so you don't miss any important payments.

First Direct - moved to them from Barclays (went very smoothly), very happy, no gadgets needed to logon, excellent telephone banking

We are changing from HSBC & Sh*tander to Halifax, partly due to our mortgage being with Halifax.

All going very smoothly so far they do all the hardwork of changing over direct debits and give a free overdraft for 60 days whilst the process goes on. Opened the accounts 2 weeks ago this Saturday and have started receiving confirmation of direct debit changes from the companies.

Also they have UK call centre and no stupid key code thingy. They also give you £5 each month for every account that has over £1,000 paid into it, as we have 3 accounts it covers the £12.50 a month for the Ulimate Reward card we got.

Looking forward to closing the accounts with HSBC and Sh*tander.

So it's not just me infuriated by HSBC's 'secure key'. I'd like to be able to check my accounts wherever I am, without carrying a mini calculator with me. Bloody ridiculous.

I swapped my current account to First Direct about a year ago and they gave me £100, they've been very good so far. However, they are owned by HSBC so perhaps they will implement the same 'security' in the future?
