Waiting for the Mrs to pick me up from Farnborough Station tonight about 5ish, saw a sea / float plane fly over... Only a small aircraft, nothing like as big as a Catalina, which is the only other Sea Plane I have ever seen in the area.

Made a bit of a change!

A floatplane/amphipian Cessna 172/182 was based at Blackbushe for a while.

thanks Eric, I know very little about small aircraft, but a quick search of Google images shows that was almost certainly what I saw.

Thanks as always.

I was out sailing a dinghy on Southampton water when a Sunderland came in to land for the last time.

Having lived on Southampton Water all my life I do still miss the sight of seaplanes.

I wish Solent Sky would make some progress with the Supermarine Walrus, it would be great to see a locally built sea plane taking off on Southampton water.
