Piston Heads not free why bother anymore?

No more free advertising unless you have been a member since 2008. Not good its what made the website. Been a member for ages and ages have always placed adds for free before. Not any more. I certainly wouldnt pay to advertise on Piston Heads far better off on Ebay or Autotrader.
Very disapointed the site is full of adverts its clear they are making a packet already.

I though standard adverts were free for everyone? Just premium ads that were only free for older members

You're not making sense. You say the free ads are what may the site, but that ebay and autotrader are better? Why bother advertising on PH at all whether free or not?

We're trialling a cheaper (£9.99) premium ad with no free alternative in some makes and models only at present. However the qualification for a free premium ad for forum account holders (which currently applies to all account holders on 1st July 2008, when we introduced a premium ad) will continue to apply.

So Piston Heads are saying people that have signed up in last 3 & half years get lost your not advertising for free anymore. We are being discriminated against clearly lol

I sold a few cars all been advertised on Piston Heads none have sold because of it. I always make a point of finding out where they saw the car advertised its always Ebay or Autotrader.

Depends what you're trying to sell.

PH Classifieds are more about high end vehicles, and it is IMO the best place to look for Sports and Supercars.

If it's a shopping car, then go to eBay or Autotrader.

Grandfather rights. Same old stale smell no new blood. A business to succeed needs to expand and grow not limit the amount of customers if has.

The sole purpose of joining PH is free advertising? Here's me thinking it's the banter about cars & stuff!

Free advertising would be great but if you think the price is too high then advertise somewhere else.

I found the cars on Pistonheads are over priced and being sold by people that think there motor is worth more than it is.

Not on a website that was always free to advertise. They make money from companys flashing there names up on the site duhhh the more people that visit the more companys pay.
